Follow-through means taking ACTION

by Patricia on

So here I am with a wealth of information for using the internet as a marketing channel for my work and Taking It Lightly. Like many people who attend seminars, I get inspired, I set goals, I make lists. And far too often once back in the daily busy-ness, that all gets filed and forgotten.

That’s not going to happen this time for me! Now, action is the key. One of the presenters at Internet Prophets Live said, “Massive Action trumps Planning.” I think there has to be both. The point the presenter was making is that we can spend far too much time planning and attempting to create perfection before we take the action to get it out into the world.

So, I’ve been taking action everyday. Yesterday, computer problems absorbed a good amount of my time (thank you Josh B at Apple for the great assist!!) however now the Mac is running better than it has in a while (should have fixed it long ago). Action, Action, Action is now my mantra. This blog post is just one of the actions I am taking today.

I’m calling you to action as well. What have you learned that is still in a binder, folder or book somewhere that you have yet to implement in your life? I challenge you to create a simple plan and then take action, at least one simple action every day, to make that plan manifest.

Let’s walk this path together, building the life and/or business that we want. Reply to this post, say what you are going to do and let’s support each other in ACTION.

I always considered “follow-through” more as completion of an already implemented action or motion, as in the stroke of a tennis racket, … the act of continuing a plan, project, scheme, or the like to its completion. The term also implies a gracefulness and professionalism; to me. The finest athletes, dancers, yoga practitioners, et al, display gorgeous follow-through.

What “will” I do? Continue (follow-through), as gracefully and professionally as possible, to develop my art, craft and services.

My transcendent self, my wise woman, is moved to action. I’m taking control of my inner child and adolescent. I will continue to love them and listen to what they have to tell me, but I will tell them to step aside when they get out of control. 🙂
